Answers to the questions we hear most about IV EDTA chelation. Still curious? Call (317) 491-5272 or book a consultation.
What is EDTA chelation therapy?
An IV therapy in which EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is infused into the bloodstream, where it binds certain metals and minerals so the body can remove them. It is FDA-approved for heavy-metal toxicity and is also used as an alternative or complementary approach for cardiovascular concerns.
Do you offer heavy-metal detox?
Yes. Heavy-metal detoxification is the FDA-approved use of EDTA chelation and a core service. We chelate metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and aluminum under board-certified physician supervision.
How do I know if I have a heavy-metal problem?
We start with testing and a physician evaluation. Dr. Nall reviews your history and possible exposures and helps determine whether chelation is appropriate for you.
Is chelation therapy safe?
Performed under physician supervision, chelation has a strong safety record. We balance every IV to your blood concentration to prevent burning or vein damage, pace infusions carefully, and a board-certified physician oversees your care.
What are the side effects of chelation?
The most common is mild discomfort at the IV site. Because our IVs are isotonic and paced appropriately, side effects are minimal for most patients. We review your history first to make sure chelation is appropriate.
How long does a chelation treatment take?
About an hour. You relax comfortably while the infusion runs.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on your goals and history. Dr. Nall recommends a specific number at your consultation, and packages make a full course more affordable.
How much does chelation cost, and do you take insurance?
A new-patient consultation is $200 and includes your first treatment; additional treatments are $145, with package savings available. Insurance does not cover chelation and we do not bill it.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. New patients simply start with a consultation with Dr. Nall.
